Pro tip: if someone says they're 'very concerned' about climate change, ask them if they're more worried about permafrost melting or about methane clathrate melting. If they don't have an answer ready, they weren't 'concerned' enough to learn much about climate change.

How do you know whether to trust the germ theory of disease unless you own a microscope? (I mostly agree with you, but we should accommodate hyperspecialization.)

Reasonable, informed, and ethical consumption is an ideal that underlies climate change. whether or not climate change exists, they're still worthy ideals.

Most accurate answer: you don’t “know.” It’s about trusting those whom it makes the most sense to trust. More colloquial answer: because the experts are telling us it is.

We don’t have enough information to say what %. % that greenhouse gas affects climate change could be negligible.

As an individual we can help very little as far as modifying daily habits, without demanding entire industries change, which would require changes in our habits. Industrial pollution is the problem—of course we are ultimately using what is made. I do walk on sidewalks.
