Imho the response to coronavirus has not reflected much terror (or a response to the emotion) - it all seems pretty sober and logical, responding to the "facts" that people trust, whether they be "carnage from uncontained spread is unconscionable" or "lockdown unnecessary".

They could start by reexamining all manuscripts hypothesising evolutionary explanations for phenomena which were knocked back in favour of terror management theory.
