I strive for centrist elitism, but realize you need to take a stand on certain issues one way or another. For example, if you want to slay me into little pieces, and I resist, the centrist solution isn't to allow you to break my legs.

My whole life "populism" has been a negative term with connotations of knee-jerk shortsightedness. Opposite of Churchill style "doing whats right even if its hard" leadership. Its only been the last 5 years that ive heard most people start to use it positively.
