Anonymous question "I am a doctoral student who just got accepted to do my first poster presentation at a conference on my thesis work (next year). How do poster presentations work? I would appreciate any tips, tricks, or advice to overcoming major imposter syndrome."

The best you can hope for in a poster session is to meet two or three potential collaborators. Focus on finding those people and getting to know them, and don't worry about the hundreds of other people who will walk by without showing any interest in your work.
