Really dumb question. seriously?

Many hospital administrators seem to believe the exact opposite of what this poll is revealing, and are advising staff against wearing masks 'to reduce patient anxiety'.

The hospital administrators' logic reminds me of taking out insurance for mountaineering. The premium is typically lower for 'rock climbing without ropes' than for 'rock climbing with ropes'. I guess the broker thinks the presence of ropes makes it dangerous ;-)

There's also cyclists who argue wearing a helmet makes people more careless as they presumably feel safer. They back it up with correlational data on cyclists wearing helmets having more accidents, ignoring that those more likely to have accidents are more likely to wear helmets.

Good to see the result of this poll. I hope this is not the metric by which hospitals decide whether staff wear masks or not.

When someone is wearing a mask, it shows that it's serious and if you are not wearing a mask, you will feel more in danger.
