An honest government would say 'We know these new policies violate many of your Constitutional rights, and that sucks, but here's why we think we have to betray those rights, under these special circumstances, for a while, to save our nation.'

Private businesses are capable of adapting to this health crisis and creating practical procedures and guidelines while still being open for business. Shutting down the entire system is lunacy. Closing beaches, parks, and trails is another level of fuckery.

I agree in the broad sense. Private sector will almost always work this out far better than GOVT.

Well, Twitter is not conducive to teaching the constitution. All I can really tell you is to read it; study the governmental powers and the structures and processes. Try looking through the lens that the constitution tells the GOVT what it can’t do, not what it can do.

Maybe it would take a well crafted epidemiological amendment? That’s how it works. There’s no time where they just get to say, “hey, yeah, that constitution thing- not so much”.
