If someone advocated for newspapers to stop charging for access at precisely the moment when demand for their content was highest, would that indicate that they didn't understand economics?

I agree. The point I was trying to make is that Klein probably feels the same way about her position: there are other things on the table aside from a straight-forward economic analysis. BTW, that's not an endorsement of what she's saying.
