It has been 6 months since I submitted my paper to a journal, still with no first decision. Multiple contacts with AE and he tells me he only has one review and is trying to get a second but refuses to act without the second bc of journal policy. What would you do?
Name and shame the journal, and submit it elsewhere. Early career researchers don't have time for that nonsense.
