On the whole, has social psychology had a positive or negative influence on the world (including problems solved and exacerbated, time and resources spent, jobs and knowledge gained, public trust in science [probably lost], procedures and methods developed, etc.)?

For decades, social psych has waged wars against behavior genetics, IQ research, personality traits, & evolutionary psych -- the four areas of psychology that have the most replicable, valid, & socially relevant findings.
