On the whole, has social psychology had a positive or negative influence on the world (including problems solved and exacerbated, time and resources spent, jobs and knowledge gained, public trust in science [probably lost], procedures and methods developed, etc.)?

I’m a bit puzzled by some of this. Most evolutionary folks I know are housed in social psych, so clearly the antipathy isn’t universal. Also, what evidence do you have that evolutionary is more replicable?

Isn't that kind of how science works? The most replicable, valid, and socially relevant are still standing after scrutiny.

Tell that to all the researchers in those fields who were denied jobs, grants, & careers by self-righteous social psychologists.
