Our tendency as a culture to rally to these kinds of shows in huge numbers and consume them like a drug because the people in these shows make us feel like, no matter how bad things get, at least we’re not them.

I would love to see explored a bit more the relationship between Carole and her second husband. I couldn’t quite be sure who was in the driving seat out of the two. He seemed to be as invested in this feud. At first I thought he was just a push over, then was not so sure.

What does this show tell us about the dynamics of polyamorous or polygamous relationships? Is what we saw pretty typical of these relationships or exceptional/unusual?

The show has many comments by people just in awe of the big cats for their power. What's going on psychologically? What's the evolutionary psych perspective on wanting to dominate/own the dangerous predator, while at the same time knowing it can rip your arm off at any time?

They were way too unattentive to the whole cult aspect; that was potentially the most interesting part. On the other hand, its fairly obvious hypernetflixism - fixation on American plebeian aesthetics and debauchery. American leftist aesthetics without the giveashitness.
