If the virus was an evil genius with a sophisticated PR system, it would be manipulating you to: 1) act partisan 2) blame other countries 3) argue about what to call it 4) worry more about 'the economy' than human lives So many people doing what a witless bug would want.

Of course. But the downturn will be _much_ worse if the pandemic isn't handled first.

How can we be sure the serious economic downturn wont claim more lives than the virus would even if say only those over 70 isolated? I believe the virus is dangerous but have no hard proof that a shutdown is more viable
