I have complete faith in our *system* of government. I have very little faith in the people who are running the system. That is fundamentally a problem of cultural decay, not a problem of how the system was constructed.
I love the US Constitution. But the system of government we actually have, has very little to do with the US Constitution.
How so? Is the "supremacy clause" argument or about agencies/Chevron deference or what? I agree that the system is not a snapshot of the same system that we had in the early 19th century, but that doesnt mean it has very little to do with the constitution.
