picked up a fantasy novel that someone recommended. awful stuff, just laughably bad. couldn’t understand why it was even published but it turns out she’s some wildly successful YA writer lol
There was one good fantasy novel. It was published in the mid-1950s. Everything else is footnotes.

Sci-fi and fantasy may be lumped together a lot, but they are not the same. There is a ton of great sci-fi out there (including The Moon is a Harsh Mistress). Fantasy... Good fantasy is hard to find.
