I do not think Italy is fucked up because they said, in Italian, of course, "people suffering from Covid can infect those who are around them" or something like that. The mortality rate wouldn't be lower if they said "people aquire Covid from other people around".

The Peter Principle is an observation that the tendency in most organizational hierarchies, such as that of a corporation, is for every employee to rise in the hierarchy through promotion until they reach a level of respective incompetence. @WHO

This made me laugh AND you're right. They made us swap positions all the time, so that when it came down to any *important* moment, we would do our actual best. Mock trials were designed specifically for this. (Personally, I'd rather see the actual data and whatever went wrong)

Your tweet, is a sterling example of optimism in the face of impossible odds. You are a braver (or, perhaps, less jaded?) man than I.

What happens when everyone realises the WHO could have stopped this all by recommending we just stop travel from China for three weeks?

Call for the resignation of Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director General -- their guidance doesn't incorporate what has been learned about the disease. Under his watch, with weak countermeasures, the epidemic struck multiple other countries. http://chng.it/Hj254dxm7D
