This is really a question about survivorship bias, obvs. But I guess we'd need to weight by inflation-adjusted market cap somehow.
And relying on governments to accurate calculate inflation is questionable at best.
Surely it’s the height of survival of the fittest (smartest, bravest)? My dunder hear father in law lost big because he’s rather dumb and gullible. Half of it was literally trading scams.
