You are right Mr. Miller. However, consider the other aspect. What if the cure emerges from a nation/society outside of the physical borders? Would you be willing to be lenient to acquire the solution regardless of borders - abstract or otherwise? Thanks.
Nationalism allows trade in goods and ideas. It allows cultural appropriation. It's not the same as witless xenophobia that rejects everything foreign.

Trade existed before an international liberal order. Same goes for cultural appropriation, etc. Nationalism allows for these things.

And btw, virus are held down by many physical barriers, regardless of whether they are borders or not. (They can be intranational). Borders are just more irrational barriers
