I haven't made up my mind yet. My knee jerk reaction was that yes, it is. I've heard some counter-arguments that have made me rethink that position. I do believe though that the efforts of "free speech twitter" have made it really difficult to have the conversation.
You don't think this firing is a legitimate threat to academic free speech?

We just have to support free speech even if we disagree with the ideas expressed in the speech. It's not that hard.
