PS to all the folks who just advise firearms. Yes, those can also help. But brandishing a firearm can get you arrested for assault, or sued, or provoke reactive violence. Nobody ever got jailed, or bankrupted by legal fees, for using a door brace.

In principle, yes. In practice, you might spend months in court for brandishing or using a firearm, no matter how justified the situation. Most good Concealed Carry courses emphasize this again, and again, and again.

I live in a rural area with just a few neighbors on my road. I bought enough food and provisions for us all to last a month. Rather feed them than have to ward them off with a firearm.
