Rationalists/EA, libertarians, & contrarians: What is your opinion on which president would be worse for the economy & tech innovation, etc? Trump or Bernie/Warren? (I really care about continued development of longevity tech & decreased x-risk and am using those as a proxy.)
This implies either would be successful in getting their policy agenda pushed through the Congress. It's more a matter of which one would create an environment in which public opinion, the actions of Congress & the oligarchs that surround & influence them would do most harm.
There are a few exceptions to this if you broaden the definition of socialism. Innovation seems to be caused by Hajnal line whiteness or Ashenazism more than political system.
Socialism is a demand for equality of opportunity by people who don’t understand that it has an equity result. We have income inequality killing the middle class which means less consumers/smaller market leading to a decline in innovation. Both sides have no new ideas.
