The N 95s are reusable and prevent you from getting the virus but surgical masks are useless..

Best advice on masks: Don't buy them, health workers need them. If you have or have-to don't go anywhere you wouldn't if you weren't wearing one. N95s and surgical masks performed similarly in infection control because 95s fit poorly and are uncomfortable even if well fitting.
