The secret to having good pictures of yourself isn't looking good or dressing well. It's being willing to stand in public making embarrassing poses for 15 minutes as someone takes 65 pictures that you can then pick from.

True. This shot of me (author photo for 'The Mating Mind', 2000), took the photographer 5 rolls of film (36 photos each) while he posed me around the British Museum for two hours on a weekend with hundreds of people passing by.
