Reading my Old English textbook in an English class made me change my major from "Undecided" to "English Literature" and I am pretty sure I would have benefitted more from being Undecided (though Old English classes were amazing).

I came in as philosophy major due to CS Lewis' Mere Christianity. Added History and Philosophy of Science due to Kuhn's The Structure of Scientific Revolutions and Religious Studies in part due to Wittgenstein's Lectures on Religious Belief.

Also, Gadamer's Truth and Method knocked my socks off and solidified my interest in continental philosophy.
