Just when you thought Douthat was being too pessimistic, Peter comes in at the end to tell you Douthat really isn’t being pessimistic enough. Great article, it’s hard to feel the stagnation without actually living through the late 1900s, but it does seem to be real on paper.

I don't get tech stagnation. He and Eric Weinstein talk about it in Eric's podcast. And still, I don't see it. Crazy biochemistry, quantum computing, blockchain, etc. I should listen again.
