Sadly Adam Rutherford is an ideologically driven hack who has nothing new to say, and who is not open to empirical arguments.
See, this is one of the most frustrating issues for me. Virtually all social scientists agree that race is a social construct but then there’s you, Dawkins, Murray, Harris (I presume), etc who argue that there is indeed a genetic component to it too. I don’t know what to think.
It is certainly plausible since one can send a DNA sample to a company and they can tell you with great accuracy what your ethnicity is. But I haven’t heard the counter argument to that either.

AWF Edwards said he and Cavalli-Sforza used "population" in place of "race" simply to avoid the baggage the latter carried. It otherwise had the same meaning.
