Believe it or not, I've been a registered Democrat for decades, ever since college.
Gotta say, the last few weeks have made me rethink things. @DNC no longer seems the natural home for classical liberal centrists like me. 
Thanks to everyone for your constructive & thoughtful replies! I had no idea this tweet would get this level of attention. But I suspect there are millions more long-term registered Democrats like me who are profoundly alienated from the @DNC's delusional behavior.
You should consider Andrew Yang - we’ve got @CHSommers and @caro on board - join us!! You’re a smart man, I’m sure that once you look into Yang you will see the appeal. Do it Geoffrey!!
I've often supported @AndrewYang in my tweets. If the @DNC has any future, it'll look more like Yang or Gabbard than like any of the approved 'major candidates'.

When I was getting red pilled a while back I was like "eww but I'm still not a Republican" After reading more American history, especially of the two parties and the Civil War, it's become pretty clear to me that, while far from perfect, the R's have been the good guys all along
But our public schools and universities are not teaching the truth of American History. Sad

I actually was once a democrat too. Until I realized that party I once supported has been irreparably changed and by extension, is hurtful to the public. I too would welcome you to the Republican party.
