Particularly true now given signal-to-noise ratio in inundating media environment. Pointing out content that adds significant value is not just helping the author, its helping everyone else who could potentially benefit from/enjoy the content.

I leave reviews for 2 reasons: either I really liked the book and want to boost the author, or I really hated it and want to publicly execrate it. Authors, you may not find that all my reviews boost sales. Especially if you sneak in the PC stuff after the Kindle free sample ends.

I wonder if there’s the Amazon book reviewer equivalent to Yelpers who demand free food or they’ll write a bad review

The answer is "yes". One moment while I dig through my history and dredge up an instance of a highly regarded
#DataScience guy who was offering $100 for positive reviews of his trife um tripe book on Amazon.@BecomingDataSci Renee can vouch for me in this regard. - 1 more reply
