I did this in grad school, except I cut them into several 100 page chunks. Much easier to carry and handle that way.
If you own a thick printed book, is it OK to tear it in half so the pieces are easier to carry around and read?

It is a very practical thing to do. Unfortunately, you will burn in Hell for doing this to a book. So that’s something to consider.
