By that argument, evolutionary adaptationist analysis of behavior in any other species would also be 'impossible'. And yet, animal behavior research succeeds. One wonders why the author thinks humans are so different....

this is the great flaw inherent in defining "nature" as anything not-human. We, and everything we are and do, stem directly from nature and the nature of things. As long as human reasoning separates us from the universe we will be wrong in our thinking.
