'Gravy' is just meat soup that you're pouring on meat that's already meat. It's like pouring potato soup over French fries, or pouring fondue over a cheese platter.

Dipping cheese in melted cheese is tasty, chocolate ganache on chocolate ice cream, miso soup and tofu. It's not an unusual pattern. Probably the ultimate culinary alliteration would be a miso soup with soy sauce, edamame, and tofu floating in there.
