I’m sure dealing with the cognitive dissidence of knowing what the problem is but not being able to address it or talk about it without being socially alienated is A difficult way to live.

@hbdchick I wish your hypothesis wasn't true. I'm also afraid of Finland eventually following in the footsteps. We have one advantage: Sweden serves as a novel warning example. For crying outloud, swedish Culture IS depressing. Stale traditions that hardly anyone enjoys except for the few individuals who build their entire identity around them. As a Child they were mind-numbingly boring. As adult, they’re only good for the alcohol.
