I've never understood the fascination with knowing the origin of species, it's such an irrelevant pursuit. Then again I was adopted so I likely have a different perspective on "mah lineage" than most

During Darwin’s lifetime, an endless universe with no beginning was the agnostic position. In 1927, Georges Lemaître (Catholic Priest) proposed the expanding universe, despite opposition, eventually became new consensus. Universe has a beginning, unknowable by Darwin.
