PS cancel culture depends on the impossibility of redemption. Han had a character arc that originally involved redemption. Therefore, his original character must be cancelled.

Not exactly in the closet about it bro. Any other insights you'd like to contribute to the discussion?https://quillette.com/2017/07/18/neurodiversity-case-free-speech/ …

He wasn't naive. He knew Greedo would kill him or take him to Jaba. Both end in his death. So its self defense.

It was better when Han didn't hesitate and shot first- it gives him growth as a character from being not so good, to an actual hero.

Han was a scoundrel, that was the whole point of the scene. If he didn't shoot first his whole character arc of learning to care about something larger than himself was meaningless—flying in at the end to save the day was just something he would have done by default.

It was a very Western situation, where Greedo was clearly going to kill Han (over my dead body = that's the idea...I've been looking forward to this for a long time)...and Han defending himself. His redemption was from his greed/abandoning the rebellion only to save the day.pic.twitter.com/34UK0AtumJ
