At least in 1984 Winston’s department of changing the past to conform to the present political needs did it in secret. This is advocation of Stalinist historical revisionism combined with the zeal of a religious revival. Notice it stated all critics are operating in bad faith.

That's been the good thing, a lot of the IRL parallels to 1984 haven't been done in secret like in the book.

DrZ had a subscription from 1960 until 1991, when I cancelled it, with prejudice, after the appalling issue attacking Bjorn Lomborg with a farrago of fallacies, mostly ad homs and credentialist appeals to authority. A nauseating display.
