What shocked me when I grew up and I and my friends were entering long relationships was that exactly the opposite is true - a taboo: 90% of my female friends want more sex than their bfs / husbands. Seems to hold back some women from entering long relationships.

But why is 'hypoactive sexual desire disorder' vastly more common in married women than in married men?

Men's testosterone levels drop when they get married and have kids. Raise the levels again and what you describe will happen.

One of the biggest reasons for the divorce rate we see. Though, it's a multi-faceted issue , men need to remain sexually viable as well. Hard to blame someone for not being attracted to a hambeast that doesnt/can't get off the couch. Both sexes need to do better. 1/2

While as a child I didn't know what was going on, I could instinctively sense lack of connection in my parents. I don't think its a coincidence as I reached adulthood, I never had strong desire for marriage, I suspect because from what was modeled to me, it looked like misery.
