What is the nature of human sexuality? Are we promiscuous Pan-like creatures, or have we evolved beyond that? Or somewhere in between?

We evolved in small groups where a few males used to have quite a strong dominance and hold for them most of females... Modern societies don't go well following our evolucionary sexual mindset and some things should be softened to large audience.

Nope. If we had, sexual dimorphism would be much bigger than it is. We evolved mostly to form pair bonds, with some play around the sides.

not at all. As I mature I'm of the mind that we should know as much as possible about the realities of human sexuality, and create structures and strategies to accommodate or restrain it as necessary. As long as the investigation to this end does not cause undue, lasting harm.

As it is I believe ignorance of sexuality contributes to greater harm than knowledge of it.

How much do we lie to ourselves to rationalize selfish ends Geoffrey? Not trolling but the whole polyamory thing is pretty open to such a charge as well, no?

What do you mean by "the nature of human sexuality"?

We have to have some false beliefs instituted into society in order to keep civilization going. If our social social institutions were based on a frank acknowledgement of human sexual nature, our society would not survive.
