Canadians have it so good, many can't even imagine simple ways things could get considerably worse relatively quickly. The media is state funded so you can imagine the coverage. Powerful people regularly use defamation / libel to silence critics. Govt has also embraced SJ lens.

This seems to be becoming more mainstream RE big tech platforms. The congressional hearings for FB saw congress members asking FB to fact check all (political) posts, kick out fact checkers on weak associations and cease their online currency operation. Personally, 1/2
