Some people are pointing to the Katie Hill story and claiming that polyamory is perfectly healthy and good. Well, her marriage fell apart. Not sure this one goes in the win column for polyamorous relationships.
It sure would be awkward for your argument if monogamous marriages fell apart once if a while too. Imagine if the divorce rate for monogamists was, like, half.

I’m curious, how would you judge this in a vacuum? Just for combinatorial reasons, it’s seems polyamory would be more prone to break ups.

Do you not see the problem in polygamous societies where high wealth men accumulate all the best women? Low status men are left with severely limited access to women and culture develops accordingly.

I've never advocated polygamy, and that's one of the reasons.
