Why would it be any other way? Without hypergamy there would be no competitive drive among men to outdo their equal. Without competition, there is no civilization or technology, only mongoloids hiding in trees.

Bingo. We're in an awkward phase right now. We know just enough to make air conditioning and say we're no longer animals, but don't know enough about ourselves to really, truly know what of our natures should be accepted and what should be overcome.

Do we also give men a pass on the behaviors that aren't as civilized as we like, or are we holding men to a higher standard? Is civilization helped or harmed by these behaviors? Maybe they're the reason it exists at all. Long term, what's beneficial? So many questions.

If you place men a step above women, then every man will be considered attractive for female hypergamia and monogamy can be developed. So civilization needs inequality. Makes sense for you?
