There isn't really any research that shows paid leave supports a natalist position and some that suggests it has no effect -- particularly in Australia under the Gillard government, which was explicitly pro-natalist.

Survey data claims to show increases in survey measures of various types of job satisfaction. Other data tends to show that it reduces compensation in aggregate and is mostly paid to higher income quintiles. Like college subsidies.
