      I loved the Watchmen graphic novel (1986) and the Zack Snyder movie (2009). However... the new @watchmen series on @HBO is a cynical, vile, witlessly woke, morally reckless betrayal of everything that made them great. Without Dr. Manhattan vs. Ozymandias, it's not Watchmen.

      Precisely, except that Snyder's movie is OK and the comic is a masterpiece. This show should just have its own name and be its own thing, rather than using "WATCHMEN" for its name recognition...

          I understand that take, but a rogue Manhattan having lost his last few shreds of humanity could be effectively just as threatening, especially after a breakdown on live TV given his godlike power. Anyway, the squid rain in the show was a nice touch.
