Gender is a social construct, while sex is not... In the article the authors make inferences on the *sex* of the skeletons. Guess it would be rather creepy, if they were able to determine their gender only by considering elbow shapes

Since sex correlates with gender by like .98 or something, if any variable predicts sex it will also very reliably predict gender

If you'd actually steelman constructivists you'd seethat they make a distinction between sex and gender and few would claim that there are no sexual dimorphisms whatsoever (how you like to portray it).
