Do biologists believe that human beings are still evolving? I have no idea how nor why we would be, given there are no evolutionary pressures. Nearly everyone can survive, thrive and reproduce (which is nice). If anything, shouldn't we be devolving from now on?

I'm no biologist, but I think maybe the concept of devolution is a false one. If we as a species become dumber over generations, while also being more successful at reproduction, that's not devolution, it's still evolution.

Correct, evolution makes no judgements on inheirent fitness/superiority.

I have taken to suggesting to younger ppl who seem like responsible human beings to go out & have kids. There are so many kids born into families with substance abuse problems, etc. it's sad.

Some populations are breeding later. Young offspring are surviving at a rate never seen before. We even have pseudo-parthenogenesis, in that we have reproduction without mating with a male, though farmers call it artificial insemination. What a time to be alive

If the social forces for secularism are in a race with evolutionary forces for religion, my money is on the social forces. Genetic preferences can be met with facsimiles of religion.

Some atheists do this quite well!

They are also having children younger, which means in 50 years they will be on a 4th generation while non- religious Westernee will just be starting their 2nd
