Bay Area housing: not enough of it; insanely expensive. Rancho Corral de Tierra along Highway 280: colossal amount of land, the size of San Francisco, could house millions. Still undeveloped. Why?

They don’t “need” it though. Very few people literally “need” to live in the Bay Area, or San Francisco proper. Conservation is an important and long-established societal value.
