Language or violence. Diplomacy or war. If you reduce the ability of heads of state to talk to each other candidly, for fear of conversations being made public later, you inhibit language. You inhibit diplomacy. You increase the risk of war. Is that really what we want?

Honestly, I think it's a better check on what conversations are taking place to have them conducted as though they may be released later on versus allow (potential) crimes to be committed because the President knows the calls will never see the light of day.
