Proposal: 1. Autonomous machines must record interactions and automatically report for (possible) decommissioning when humans injured/killed. 2. Extreme penalties for anyone who attempts to circumvent #1. 3. Individuals are accountable for crimes committed by AIs they program.https://twitter.com/WIRED/status/1176497063116324865 …

Also, with deep learning networks, it's really really hard to identify exactly what product fault might have caused a death. It's not just a faulty line of code. It's an emergent statistical property that no jury will understand. Complex AI may be litigation-proof.

You're making my point. If it is litigation proof, and that makes it very dangerous, then the responsibility my must be transferred back to producers in some way such that they can't afford *not* to solve the problem.

If its litigation proof, then murder becomes easy.

It gets even tricker as some of the injuries/deaths might be caused due to no fault of 'complex AI' (similar to how a driver can injure/kill someone by swerving to avoid a collision with someone who cut them off)

Tell that to general aviation manufacturers who have basically been sued out of existence supported by juries who have no idea how aviation works. In many cases, damages were awarded despite a product fault being demonstrably not the cause of the death or injury.

I am hopeless at coding but it's just not hard to bundle a fail safe (and it's free). A mathmatician/comp. scientist at MIT invented a number that represents when computers seize. Wrap it in with R2's "kill the human" equation and he blows up. (the next time I'll have to charge)

Said everyone in medicine: “Not actually an advantage when juries can’t understand statistics. They just figure you’re making fun of them & strike back with more zeros.”
