Ad Astra movie was unrealistic in dozens of ways from big too small. Neptune location doesn't help to see stars, & antimatter enough to get there can't threaten life in solar system. Also, hero's space helmet had far more do-dads than did most other folks' helmets.

He just outlined reasons why it would not be fun for _me_ to watch it. What if it was a movie where the plot was built around evolutionary psych, and it was 180 degrees from reality, fun?

I take your point. I also have trouble with science fiction that's ludicrously unaligned to reality.

Absolutely dire. Plot elements introduced and abandoned, kept waiting for some kind of twist that would redeem it. And lens flare effects, horrid. The only decent space movie since Apollo 13 was Moon (2009).

Fun? No, it's a serious movie. However even putting aside this badly written pretext, the rest of the intrigue falls a bit flat, IMO. Brad Pitt is very good though
