If life is simulated by the ‘original’ people, then these original people with their enormous computing powers should still exist somewhere. Swiping the simulated with the simulators does not challenge the atheist hypothesis, it only shifts the burden.

I don't think the Simulation argument has much relevance to theism as being unable to presuppose higher agents'/The Simulators' goals is different from calling the comprehension of such goals epistemically unfeasible from the get go.

And I'd probably be happier if it were true, even if I somewhat doubt it - would mean at least one universe has available computational capacity to 'split infinitely' from a subjective perspective. A world with potentially infinite subjective time is a happy place.
