So @MarieKondo talks about things in your house 'sparking joy'. Think about the one object you own that sparks the most joy. How much did it cost you?

It slightly bothers me that people think of their kids as “objects”

-
And objects they OWN, no less...

Funny you had to make this distinction

My dearest object that isn’t a smartphone is a $120 single beveled Japanese chef’s knife. Blue #2 carbon steel. At least a quarter inch thick at the spine, and tapering down to an edge like a straight razor. Come from the factory in need of final sharpening & bevel lapping. Fun!

Expensive guitars spark joy, but only if you keep practicing.

I'm not a 5yo so the mere sight of an object cannot 'spark joy' in me. Unless it's food I guess

Plenty of art collectors would disagree!

Lol, I was thinking either priceless or a gift (my family)..... will leave those out of the equation.

A little art deco gaming table (inlaid wood and iron, handcrafted by an older gentleman) is what first comes to mind. I drove several hours into the mountains to retrieve it & 7 years later I still enjoy it.
