The real problem with Chick-fil-A isn't their politics. The problem is that, given factory farming, eating chicken imposes more far more suffering on other sentient animals, pound for pound, than eating beef. (Chickens are much smaller than cows, & suffer more.)

I first heard this logic from
@franktufan 1 cow life can feed a human for almost a year. And is possibly more humanitarian than veganism. I think we should use the calculation "calories per life" to rate different food choices. And maybe add an intelligence modifier. -

It is a luxury to eat this way though. Expensive and relatively inefficient. There is a trend in smaller scale farming that hopefully continues.

But from a nutritionist stand point, with our lifestyle as modern western society, beef isn’t a daily option. Red meat for daily meat eaters should be combined with others (I’m more prone to advocate pescatarian) with off meat days

Sustainable fish is a resource efficient protein too! Good for you and the planet

Pastured beef produces even more greenhouse gas than factory-farmed beef. (Not saying either is good, just that if we all had pastured beef it would likely be unsustainable.)
